The clock is ticking, and the window to enter the NZ D.O.C.’s and Air New Zealand’s amazing Great Walker contest is almost closed- only a hair over five hours left at the writing of this post (contest close is 5 pm North American Pacific Coast Time, Sunday October 21, 2012). Four lucky/skilled winners will win an amazing nine week excursion to hike New Zealand’s Nine Great Walks, with most of the expenses paid by ANZ and the DOC. It is the nature photographer’s opportunity of a lifetime, whether you re a professional or amateur.
I made my entry video already, since I’m pretty sure I have what it takes to be one of the Great Walkers, but five hours should be enough for some of you to put together your own entries, if you scramble. I am posting my entry, since some of my reader’s have requested it, so here it is- Galen’s Great Walker Entry. Don’t worry, votes do not matter in this contest. I am not asking anything from any of you, other than that you enjoy your weekend. I hope to see some of you out there, tramping along on New Zealand’s trails. If any of you win, please let me know so that I can link to you on my blog, and those that wish can follow your adventures with the kiwis.
I figure that this being the first time I’ve posted video of me walking and talking, that people readers will finally get a different image of me than just the words I write or the photographs that I post. We will see if this gains or loses me readers, or if this carries things through just how they are.

Nice video, good luck
Thanks
Good luck Galen! I hope you win, so I can see some of the photos you’ll shoot on one of the hikes. Purely selfish reasons, obviously! :)
Thank you. I too am hoping I win, also largely for selfish reasons, although I would love sharing it with everyone
Good luck, Galen. I hope you win. Would love to see your photos from there.
Thank you
It was nice to ‘meet’ you Galen. I really hope you win the trip, your video was quite good!
Thank you. It’s always so different reading a persons words, versus seeing and hearing what they physically look like
Well done and good luck.
Sean
Thank you Sean
